Minibook and finally... the lobster!

Hi! So it was time for a colorful and bright post after the previous one :)

This is the project i've been working on while travelling to and from work the past couple of weeks (yes, i know, i crochet S.L.O.W.). Í've got the pattern from this book. And asked my son to pick one of the amigurumi creatures in it. I made the eyes a bit different. So i'll surprise him with it today ;) My next project has started already... using a pattern and it has to do with one of my favorite games, won't tell you just yet.

Also sharing a minibook i made on request of one of the mommies that i had sign the minibook i made for another girl, who was in hospital (remember this post).

I.M.

Today, exactly five years ago, our friend Peter died after his battle with cancer, at 31 years of age. I made a layout in honour of him. And our thoughts are with his parents every day now also, as his sweet, caring, inspiring, wonderful mom is about to lose that same battle. So maybe, you can think loving thoughts along with us, to hopefully make her path easier. Thank you

BIG post :)

THANK YOU SO MUCH for your sweet comments on my last crochet-post, they really made me blush and smile! So thank you!! I want to share some pics of our last weekend, which was very special. We had a wonderful time with our friends and checked out the farm where our friend works. We had a picknick there and ended up working for a bit amidst the planted groceries! After that picture overload is my Dutch Dare for this week, inspired by a quote and my brother who has his own version on it. His version: "Better sorry than safe", when it comes to doing what his heart is telling him too, to just experience life to the fullest when it comes to love. And a layout called "time stands still" from when my son was 3 months old.

Here's the pics first :)

Meet my bro (the crochetted version that is ;)

In my previous posts i mentioned i was teaching myself how to chrochet amigurumi style. My brother asked me if i could make him a crochet version of an animation he made of himself and showed it to me on his mobile. So this was my pilot project :) Where i find the time? Well i recently found out that the multiple hours i spend per week travelling to and from work by public transport can be of much better use. So now i no longer have to sit and watch other people pick their nose while travelling from A to B. Now i only need to get myself an MP3 player to prevent hearing other people's mobile conversations ;) and i'm ready to rock some more projects. My boy ordered a crab, so working on that now :) I know i look like a total geek with a crochetneedle on the bus/train/metro but hey, creativity has it's price.

My little man @ 3

We sit at the table at the end of the day and suddenly his eyes light up.

He says: "Mommy! I brought you a surprise!" (Puts his hand in his little pocket and quickly searches)

He puts the suprise in my hand and explains: "i picked you flowers this afternoon!"

Me: "Honey that's so sweet of you!"

He stares at them, while i admire them.

Then he says: "They actually look a bit dead right now"

Me: :D

In times of

lack-of-time, i LUV sketches even more. So here goes my take on fun Pencillines sketch no 134. And a sneak peek of a new little page i made for my still-not-finished-mls-weekend-away-mini-album last November, using the new MLS sketch made by Kirs, which will go online next wednesday on the MLS-blog.

Thanks so much for your visit!

Spring project

After a few weeks of inspiration-has-definately-taken-a-break, i was reading the Dutch magazine Flow (sigh, i love that magazine) and was inspired to use the beautiful paper inside it by Pip Studio. And then my mojo came back, i combined it with beautiful products from Memory Lane Scrapbooking and made a little spring project, see sneak peek. If you want to see the whole project, hop over to the MLS blog. Thanks again for your visit!

The dare of dares

As i said in my previous post, look out for a special dare today on the Dutch Dare blog...

So if you want to know what the heck my husband has to do with the layout he's holding (and why there's spray ink on my floor in the scrapstudio) hop over here... :)

Still here

Haven't been an active blogger lately, and not a very active scrapper either LOL. My mojo has left town for a bit i think, so while it is out there somewhere, i grab the few spare moments i have to continue the process of Photo Freedom (Stacy Julian) and i am teaching myself how to crochet amigurumi-style. Sharing two snapshots from Queensday, as one captured our wonderful friends all in one pic (except for a little 3 year old princess who was ahead of us all :) These people mean the WORLD to me, i love them SO MUCH. Thankful for every minute i get to spend with them. And the other is me and my little man strolling around on the market, taught him how to bargain which turned out fine, as most grown ups felt sorry saying no to him so they all gave in hahahaha. We were not as insanely dressed up this year, guess all Dutch blogreaders know why. For all the others who don't, google "Queensday+drama" and you get to see more than you would want probably.

Also sharing two 'older' layouts, a Dutch Dare (Get Lost, a little cousin who was not into me and my camera and tried to scare me away by putting his finger up his nose, the little bugger) and one inspired by the MLS sketch just recently. Tune into the MLS blog next wednesday, as we have a REALLY REALLY SPECIAL DUTCH DARE coming up, did i say yet it's special? See ya. Kon2
